Impact on the Environment

The problem of discarded tires has been with us since we started the automotive age, nearly 100 years ago.  As more and more cars are produced and purchased the number of scrap tires increases.  As more and more 18-wheelers plow down our major highways, more and more tires are produced and purchased.

discarded tiresThe environmental impact ranges from the aesthetic (ugly piles of tires stockpiled on a parcel of land) to the hazardous (potential for fire and toxic chemicals from smoke) to public health concerns (carelessly discarded tires are an excellent breeding ground for mosquitoes).

There are many applications old tires are used for today, ranging from mulch to roof pads, to retaining walls, but I decided to make use of them in my own way, by creating custom key chains each tagged with a unique unlock code.  Enter your unlock code on Supporters page and discover where I found the tire tread!
